Blacklist Alliance (TCPA Scrub)
Connect Blacklist Alliance to Lead Distro AI for real-time TCPA litigator scrubbing. Per-campaign and per-supplier scrub rules, daily lookup caps, Slack alerts, and FAQs.
What This Integration Does
Connects your own Blacklist Alliance account to Lead Distro AI so every ingested lead can be checked against Blacklist Alliance's TCPA litigator database in real time. Matched leads are rejected before distribution to any buyer — protecting the buyer (and you) from sending leads to known TCPA litigators.
This is a bring-your-own-account integration — you pay Blacklist Alliance directly for lookups, and Lead Distro AI calls your account via your API key. No reseller markup. You see the full cost on your Blacklist Alliance invoice.
Why TCPA Scrubbing Matters
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) allows individuals to sue for unsolicited calls or texts — damages range from $500 to $1,500 per call. A small number of repeat plaintiffs ("professional litigators") have hundreds of active cases. Blacklist Alliance maintains a database of these plaintiffs; scrubbing every lead against the database before distribution prevents a single high-risk lead from triggering a multi-thousand-dollar exposure for a buyer.
TCPA scrubbing is **not legal advice or guaranteed compliance**. It significantly reduces risk but doesn't eliminate it. Use alongside express written consent, suppression lists, and other TCPA hygiene practices — and consult an attorney for your specific vertical and jurisdiction.
Setup
- Sign up for a Blacklist Alliance account (separate from Lead Distro AI).
- Generate an API key inside your Blacklist Alliance dashboard.
- In Lead Distro AI, go to Settings → Integrations → Blacklist Alliance.
- Paste your Blacklist Alliance API key.
- Save. The connection is verified with a test lookup against a known-safe number.
Per-Campaign Default Scrubbing
- On the campaign settings page, enable TCPA Scrubbing.
- Choose the action on match: Reject lead (default — never sent to any buyer), or Tag and route (mark as `tcpa_risk: true` in the payload and let buyers decide).
- Most agencies use Reject lead — the cost of one missed legitimate lead is far less than the cost of one TCPA lawsuit.
Per-Supplier Overrides
Override the campaign default per-supplier — always scrub a risky supplier (e.g., a cold-traffic affiliate) or skip a trusted supplier (e.g., your own ad account where you already have consent records). Useful when one supplier's traffic mix justifies always-on scrubbing while a low-volume internal source doesn't.
Daily Lookup Cap
Set a daily lookup cap so a runaway supplier (e.g., a misconfigured campaign sending 100,000 leads/day) can't run up your Blacklist Alliance bill. When the daily cap is hit, additional leads bypass the scrub (default behavior) or are rejected entirely (configurable). You get a Slack alert the first time the cap is hit each day.
Set the daily lookup cap to roughly 110% of your typical daily volume — high enough to absorb normal spikes, low enough to catch a runaway supplier within a few thousand leads. Pair with the **Notifications tab** to get the Slack alert; that's your signal to pause the offending supplier before the bill climbs further.
