Trestle Integration

Connect Trestle to Lead Distro AI to validate phone numbers and grade lead quality at ingest. Phone validation, Real Contact A to F grade, caller ID, reverse phone, and reverse address, all bring-your-own-key with per-campaign control.

What This Integration Does

Connects your own Trestle account to Lead Distro AI so incoming leads can be validated and enriched in real time at ingest. Trestle checks whether a phone number is real, grades how reachable each lead is, and can pull back identity data. The results are stored on the lead and feed into AI lead scoring, so you can route and prioritize on real contactability instead of guessing.

This is a bring-your-own-key integration. You connect your own Trestle API key, choose which Trestle products run on each lead, and Trestle bills your account directly for the lookups. Lead Distro AI adds no markup.

What Is Trestle

Trestle (trestleiq.com) is an identity and phone-intelligence data provider. For lead distribution it answers the questions that decide whether a lead is worth buying or selling: is this a real, active phone number? What line type and carrier? Who is behind it? How reachable is this person overall? Validating at ingest means a dead or junk phone is caught before the lead is ever distributed to a buyer.

Why It's Helpful

  • Stop paying for junk leads. Phone Validation flags disconnected, invalid, and low-activity numbers before they reach a buyer, which protects your accept rate and cuts returns.
  • Prioritize the reachable leads. The Real Contact grade (A to F) scores how contactable a lead is across phone, email, and address, so you can route the best leads first or filter the worst.
  • Enrich the record. Caller ID, reverse phone, and reverse address fill in the name and contact details behind a number, which helps buyers work the lead and helps you spot mismatched or fabricated data.
  • Better AI scoring. Trestle results are fed into Lead Distro AI's lead scoring as signals, so your scores reflect real contactability rather than just the fields the supplier sent.

The Five Trestle Products

Trestle has no single all-in-one endpoint, so you pick which products run. Each one you enable is a separate Trestle lookup on each lead. Phone Validation is on by default; the rest are off until you turn them on.

ProductWhat it returnsDefault
Phone ValidationWhether the phone is real, plus line type, carrier, and an activity scoreOn
Real ContactA contactability grade from A to F across phone, email, and address (needs a name and phone on the lead)Off
Caller IdentificationThe name tied to the phone numberOff
Reverse PhoneThe owners and contact details behind a phone numberOff
Reverse AddressAddress validation and current residentsOff

Start with Phone Validation only. It catches most junk for the lowest cost per lead. Add Real Contact when you want a single quality grade to route or filter on, and add the reverse and caller products only when a buyer specifically needs enrichment, since each enabled product is a separate billed lookup.

How Lead Distro AI Integrates With Trestle

  • A lead is ingested on a campaign that has Trestle enabled.
  • Lead Distro AI calls each Trestle product you have turned on, in parallel, using your API key.
  • Results are stored on the lead under signal_data.trestle and fed into AI lead scoring.
  • Trestle runs as an enrichment and scoring signal. It does not hard-reject leads on its own, so a Trestle outage or a low grade never silently drops a lead. Use the score and your campaign filters to decide what to do with low-quality leads.

Real Contact needs both a name and a phone on the lead to return a grade. If a campaign does not map a name field, leave Real Contact off for that campaign and rely on Phone Validation.

Prerequisites

  • A Trestle account with an API key (from the Trestle dashboard under API Keys).
  • Campaigns whose leads carry a phone number (and a name, for Real Contact).

Step 1 — Connect Your API Key

  • In Lead Distro AI, go to Settings → Integrations → Trestle.
  • Paste your Trestle API key. Lead Distro AI tests the key before saving.
  • Toggle on the Trestle products you want to run on each lead.
  • Set a daily lookup limit (default 5,000) to cap how many leads get validated per day.
  • Click Test & Save.

Set the daily lookup limit to roughly 110% of your typical daily volume. High enough to absorb normal spikes, low enough to catch a runaway supplier before it runs up your Trestle bill. When the cap is hit, validation pauses for the day and leads keep flowing through unvalidated rather than being blocked.

Step 2 — Turn Trestle On Per Campaign

  • In the Trestle dialog, open the Campaigns tab.
  • Click Manage Campaigns.
  • Turn Trestle on for the campaigns that should validate leads. Each enabled campaign runs the products you turned on in your connection settings.

Per-campaign control means you can validate cold-traffic or affiliate campaigns where quality is uncertain, and skip campaigns sourced from your own trusted ad accounts to save on lookups.

Step 3 — Send a Test Lead

Send a test lead with a phone number (and a name, if Real Contact is on) through a Trestle-enabled campaign. Open the lead detail page and look for the Trestle block under the lead's signals. You should see the phone validation result and, if enabled, the Real Contact grade and any enrichment data.

Pricing

Trestle bills your own account directly for every lookup. Each product you enable is a separate lookup per lead, so running all five costs more per lead than running Phone Validation alone. Lead Distro AI adds no markup, and the daily lookup limit is your spend cap.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Trestle reject bad leads automatically?
No. Trestle runs as an enrichment and scoring signal, not a hard gate. It validates the phone, grades contactability, and stores the result on the lead, which feeds AI scoring. To act on low quality, use the score or a campaign filter. This design means a Trestle outage or a low grade never silently drops a lead. For hard-reject compliance checks, see the TrustedForm, Jornaya, and Blacklist Alliance integrations.
Do I need my own Trestle account?
Yes. This is a bring-your-own-key integration. You connect your own Trestle API key in Settings → Integrations → Trestle, choose which products run, and Trestle bills your account directly for the lookups. Lead Distro AI adds no markup.
Which Trestle products should I turn on?
Start with Phone Validation only. It catches most junk numbers for the lowest cost per lead. Add Real Contact when you want a single A to F contactability grade to route or filter on. Add Caller Identification, Reverse Phone, and Reverse Address only when a buyer needs that enrichment, since each enabled product is a separate billed lookup on every lead.
What does the Real Contact grade mean?
Real Contact grades how reachable a lead is on a scale of A to F, looking across phone, email, and address signals. An A is a highly reachable contact; an F is unlikely to be reachable. It needs both a name and a phone on the lead to return a grade, so map a name field on any campaign where you enable it.
How do I control Trestle costs?
Two levers. First, the daily lookup limit (default 5,000) caps how many leads are validated per day. When the cap is hit, validation pauses for the day and leads keep flowing. Second, per-campaign control: only turn Trestle on for campaigns where validation is worth it, and only enable the products you actually use, since each product is a separate lookup.
Can I run Trestle on some campaigns and not others?
Yes. After connecting your key, open the Campaigns tab in the Trestle dialog and turn it on per campaign. A common pattern is to validate cold-traffic and affiliate campaigns where quality is uncertain, and skip campaigns from your own trusted ad accounts to save on lookups.
