Onboard a buyer from an Insertion Order

Upload a buyer's Insertion Order (IO) or contract into Claude connected to Lead Distro AI, and have the AI set up the whole campaign: create the buyer, add pricing and caps, build the field mapping, configure delivery, and activate. Skip the manual setup and the dev backlog.

The fastest way to onboard a new buyer: open Claude with Lead Distro AI connected, attach the buyer's Insertion Order PDF, and say "set this up in Lead Distro." Claude reads the IO and builds the campaign for you.

An Insertion Order (IO) is the standard document a buyer signs that spells out what they are buying: the price per lead, daily and monthly caps, the geographies they want, the lead fields they need, and where to send the leads. Normally someone on your team reads that IO and sets all of it up by hand, which is slow and easy to get wrong. Instead, you can hand the IO to Claude and let it do the setup.

This works because Claude can read PDFs directly, and once it is connected to Lead Distro AI it can create campaigns, buyers, fields, and delivery for you. You stay in control: Claude shows you each step and waits for your approval before it runs.

What you need

  • Claude.ai or the Claude desktop app. These read PDF files directly, which is what makes this work.
  • Lead Distro AI connected to Claude. If you have not done this yet, it takes about two minutes: see Connect with Claude.ai or Desktop.
  • Your buyer's Insertion Order as a PDF (a contract or signed IO works too).

Use Claude.ai or the Claude desktop app for this. They read PDFs natively. Some other assistants (for example Cursor) connect to Lead Distro AI fine but do not read PDF uploads, so they are better for the by-hand developer path than for uploading an IO.

Step by step

  • Open Claude.ai or the Claude desktop app with Lead Distro AI connected.
  • Attach your buyer's Insertion Order PDF to the message (the paperclip / attach button).
  • Paste the prompt below.
  • Review each step Claude proposes. It will confirm the price and caps with you, then show each action before it runs. Approve the ones that look right.
  • When it finishes, ask it to send a test lead so you can see the lead flow end to end before going live.

The prompt to paste

Here is an Insertion Order from a new buyer. Using Lead Distro AI, set up everything it describes: create the buyer, add them to the right campaign with the exact price per lead and caps from the IO, add any lead fields they require, set up how they receive leads (the delivery method and endpoint in the IO), then activate them. Confirm the price and caps with me before you create anything, and show me each step before you run it.

Claude will read the IO and walk through the setup: find or create the campaign, create the buyer, set the price and caps, build the fields the buyer needs, configure delivery (webhook, email, or Google Sheet), and turn the buyer on. If anything is missing from the IO, it will ask you instead of guessing.

Check it worked

Ask Claude to "send a test lead to this campaign and show me what happened." It submits a free, test-tagged lead and reports which buyer it went to, so you can confirm the routing and delivery are correct before real leads come in. You can also open the campaign in Lead Distro AI to review the buyer, fields, and delivery it created.

Always glance at the price and caps Claude pulled from the IO before you approve. Reading a number off a PDF is the one place to double check, and Claude shows it to you on purpose before creating anything.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I do this in the in-app assistant instead?
The in-app assistant (the chat bubble inside Lead Distro AI) accepts image screenshots, so it works for a one-page IO you can screenshot. For a full multi-page Insertion Order PDF, use Claude.ai or the Claude desktop app connected to Lead Distro AI, since those read the whole PDF directly.
Will this charge anyone or move money?
No. The assistant can set up campaigns, buyers, fields, and delivery, but it can never charge a card, issue a refund, or move money. That is left out on purpose, no matter how you connect.
What if Claude reads a value wrong?
You approve every step before it runs, and Claude confirms the price and caps with you first. If a value looks off, correct it in the chat before approving, and Claude will use your correction.
My IO is a Word doc or an image, not a PDF.
Save or export it as a PDF and attach that. For a single-page document you can also paste a screenshot. The cleaner the document, the more accurately Claude reads it.
