Connect with Claude.ai or Desktop

Step-by-step guide to connect Lead Distro AI to Claude.ai or the Claude desktop app. No download, no terminal, no coding. Add a custom connector, paste one link, click Authorize, and start chatting with your account.

This is the easiest way to connect, and the right one if you are not a developer. There is nothing to download and no terminal. If another guide had you installing Claude Code, Git, or Node.js, you do not need any of that here.

You will add Lead Distro AI as a custom connector inside Claude, then approve it in your browser. It takes about two minutes. The steps are the same whether you use Claude in your web browser at claude.ai or the Claude desktop app.

Before you start

  • A Claude account you can sign in to. Custom connectors work on the Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. On the Free plan you can add one custom connector.
  • Your Lead Distro AI login. You will sign in during the approval step.

Step by step

  • 1. Open Claude. Go to claude.ai in your web browser, or open the Claude desktop app.
  • 2. Open Settings. Click your name or profile picture, then choose Settings.
  • 3. Open Connectors. In the settings menu, click Connectors.
  • 4. Click Add custom connector. It is at the bottom of the Connectors list.
  • 5. Paste this link into the box that asks for the remote MCP server URL:
https://mcp.leaddistro.ai/mcp
  • 6. Click Add. You can skip the optional Advanced settings (OAuth client ID and secret). You do not need them.
  • 7. Sign in if asked. A browser window opens and asks you to sign in to Lead Distro AI. Use your normal login.
  • 8. Pick your organization. If your login has more than one organization, choose the one you want the assistant to manage.
  • 9. Click Authorize. That connects Claude to your account.

That is it. Start a new chat and try: "List my campaigns and tell me what I can do."

You stay connected. Claude renews the connection on its own in the background, so you will not have to do this again unless you disconnect it. To disconnect, see What it can do & security.

Troubleshooting

  • I do not see Add custom connector. Make sure you are on a plan that allows it (Free, Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise) and that you are under Settings, then Connectors. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an admin may need to turn custom connectors on first.
  • It says the server cannot be reached. The Lead Distro AI connector runs on the public internet, so this is usually a temporary network hiccup. Remove the connector and add it again.
  • I picked the wrong organization. Disconnect the connector (see What it can do & security), then add it again and pick the right one.
  • Nothing happens when I chat. Start a brand new chat after connecting, then ask "List my campaigns." If it still does nothing, remove and re-add the connector.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to install anything?
No. This path has nothing to download and no terminal. You add one link inside Claude's settings and click Authorize.
Is the Claude desktop app different from claude.ai?
The steps are the same. claude.ai runs in your web browser. The desktop app is the same Claude installed as an app on your computer. Either one works.
Will it ask me to install Node.js or Git?
No. Those are only needed for the developer tool called Claude Code. The Claude.ai and desktop app path does not use them. If you were asked to install them, you were following the Claude Code guide by mistake.
Can other people on my team connect too?
Yes. Each person connects their own Claude to your organization the same way. You can see and remove connected assistants in Settings, then API Keys, under Connected AI assistants.
